Founder of Silverbird Group, Senator Ben Murray-Bruce has called on Nigerians to put national interest above personal interest.
He said this while reacting to the judgment by the presidential election petition court on Wednesday saying that the petitioners should accept the ruling of the court as the ‘people’s verdict.
To him, elections do not have to end in the courts.
According to him, once elections have been held and a winner is announced, the parties must follow the Jonathan doctrine and accept the people’s verdict in the interest of democracy and the nation.
He further advised Nigerians to put national interest above self-interest, accept the verdict, and move on so the nation can advance.
He stressed that elections don’t have to end in the courts, noting that Bola Ahmed Tinubu is the duly elected and undisputed President of Nigeria and that the presidential election petition tribunal judgment should settle all questions and erase all doubts.
