by Silverbird News24

The Delta State Government on Monday approved 65 years as a new retirement age for teachers in the public service of the state.

The teachers will henceforth retire at the attainment of 40 years of service or 65 years of age.

The same is applicable to the non-academic staff of the state-owned Polytechnics and Colleges of Education.

The Commissioner for Information, Charles Aniagwu, disclosed this shortly after the State Executive Council meeting in Asaba.
