EDO EXECUTIVE COUNCIL LAMBASTS SHAIBU, CALLS FOR TRUCE
The Edo State Executive Council criticised the Deputy Governor of the state, Philip Shaibu, for suing Governor Godwin Obaseki over an alleged attempt to impeach him.
Following its meeting on Wednesday, the SEC, through its Commissioner for Communication and Orientation, Chris Nehikhare, rejected any attempt to have Shaibu removed from office, stressing that the dispute between the governor of Edo and his deputy will be resolved.
Nehikhare claims that the deputy governor violated his oath of office by acting in such a manner, given the sensitive material in the affidavit that was attached to his lawsuit against the governor.
He, however, revealed the government’s decision to provide 314,000 households with N20,000 per month to lessen the impact of the removal of fuel subsidy.
