First Lady renames National Women Centre after Maryam Babangida

Nigeria’s first lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu has renamed The National Centre for Women Development in Abuja after the late first lady, Dr Maryam Babangida.

She praised the former first lady as a role model who made significant contributions to present-day first ladies.

She said that while she was the governor’s wife of Lagos State, the late Maryam Babangida and Maryam Abacha were proud of her because she reminded them of themselves.

Senator Tinubu delivered these remarks during the centre’s renaming and the induction of the first Nigerian female achievers into the Nigerian Women Hall of Fame.
