INEC worried over insecurity ahead of Kogi, Imo, Bayelsa polls

The Independent National Electoral Commission has expressed concern over the rising insecurity before the November 11 governorship elections in the states of Imo, Bayelsa, and Kogi.

The National Commissioner and Chairman of the Commission’s Information and Voter Education Committee, Sam Olumekun, in a statement, lamented the fact that political parties had not substantially submitted the list of their agents despite notices and subsequent reminders.

The INEC commissioner also appealed to political parties and their candidates to avoid actions and utterances capable of causing clashes among supporters of political parties and candidates in the forthcoming elections.
