WBO Africa champion, Oluwaseun Wahab, is set to feature on the undercard of the ‘Ring of Fire’ fight night where WBC champion Tyson Fury and unified heavyweight champ Oleksandr Usyk will meet for their undisputed bout on May 18 in Saudi Arabia, The PUNCH reports.

Wahab will battle the unbeaten British boxer Mark Chamberlain in a 10-round lightweight clash at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh.

The Nigerian boxer holds an impressive record of 23 wins and one loss with 16 of his victories coming via knockouts while the Brit holds an undefeated record of 15 victories and 11 KOs as it promises to be an entertaining clash between both boxers.

Undefeated in Africa, where he has fought in Nigeria and Ghana, his only career loss came when he made his UK debut against Liam Dillon at York Hall, Bethnal Green in London.

Wahab suffered a majority decision loss in the fight. He has since made up for it with an 11th round technical knockout win over Sikiru Shogbesan to defend his title in the main event of the ‘Rumble in Lasgidi’ event in 2023.

The WBO Africa super-featherweight champion will be eager to make it back-to-back wins when he takes to the ring for the star-studded event in Saudi Arabia.

The organiser of the Riyadh Season event series, Turki Al al-Sheikh, commented on the fight card for the boxing event between Usyk and Fury. According to him, it is a powerful card for all boxing fans, containing several strong matchups that could have easily been headline events.

Fury failed to impress in his last fight against Francis Ngannou, struggling to a points win, with many in the boxing world now tipping Usyk as favourite to beat the ‘Gypsy King.’

However, the WBC champion remains confident of becoming the first undisputed champion since Lennox Lewis in 1999.
