Subsidy Pains: Labour Insists on Protest Despite Tinubu’s Palliative Plans

by Silverbird News24

The organised labour has stated that it will continue its nationwide protest on Wednesday, despite President Bola Tinubu’s announcement of subsidy removal palliative plans.

Tinubu announced a N500 billion palliative for farmers, small businesses, and manufacturers, as well as plans to buy 3,000 public transport buses and increase salaries.

Despite President Tinubu’s attempts to stop the demonstration, Nigeria Labour Congress president Joe Ajaero declared the protest would proceed as planned.

Negotiations between the government and labour ended in a deadlock, but the discussion is expected to resume on Tuesday.
