Tella wins Emerald Literati Awards

A Professor of Library and Information Science at the University of Ilorin, Adeyinka Tella, has won Outstanding Paper Award of the Emerald Literati Awards for his article on Robots and Public Libraries, published in the journal, Library Hi Tech News.

The prestigious award, which will be presented to him on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, was announced in a Press Statement signed by the Vice President of Emerald Publishing, Sally Wilson.

Speaking with Unilorin Bulletin in his office at the Faculty of Communication and Information Sciences, University of Ilorin, last Friday (September 1, 2023) on the feat, the don expressed his joy particularly because his PhD supervisor at the University of Botswana, Prof. Stephen Modongo Mutula, had won the award a number of times.

Prof Tella disclosed that the paper, which has generated a lot of excitement among Library Scientists is a sensitisation on Artificial Intelligence tools particularly robotics such as telepresence, chatbox, humanoid and shelf reading in Library Service.
