AFCON Fallout: CAF Hammer Falls On Mali

by Silverbird News24

Slightly a week to the conclusion of the 34th edition of the African Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast, the African Soccer ruling body has continued to sanction countries and players for their unruly behaviour during the competition.

After sanctioning DR Congo and Senegal last week, CAF on Sunday sanctioned the Malian captain Hamari Traore and the Malian FA.

The Eagles of Mali players nearly attacked the centre after they lost 1-2 to Ivory Coast in the quarter-final of the competition.

Their unruly behaviour was led by Traore and CAF has decided to suspend him for 2 international matches.

Malian FA was also fined $10,000 for their inability to control their players.
